El gasto sanitario en enfermedades relacionadas con el tabaquismo es igualmente significativo y va en aumento; la carga del tabaquismo cost\u00f3 a la econom\u00eda europea m\u00e1s de 500 000 millones de euros en 2009.<\/p>\n<p>A pesar de la reducci\u00f3n masiva de las enfermedades cardiovasculares en los \u00faltimos 30 a\u00f1os, esta sigue siendo la principal causa de muerte en todo el mundo. La mayor\u00eda de las enfermedades cardiovasculares pueden evitarse. Un estilo de vida saludable podr\u00eda prevenir m\u00e1s del 80&nbsp;% de las enfermedades cardiovasculares.<\/p>\n<p>Si toma la decisi\u00f3n de dejar de fumar, es mejor que lo planifique bien. Es dif\u00edcil dejar de fumar, as\u00ed que intente hacerlo menos dif\u00edcil con estos m\u00e9todos.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Informe a su familia y amigos de que va a dejar de fumar, determine una fecha para dejarlo por completo e intente ir reduciendo el n\u00famero de cigarrillos en los d\u00edas previos a la fecha se\u00f1alada para ello.<\/li>\n<li>Hable con su m\u00e9dico sobre el uso de medicamentos o sustitutos de la nicotina para ayudarle a dejar de fumar.<\/li>\n<li>Participar en una sesi\u00f3n grupal para dejar de fumar o pedir ayuda a un especialista en la materia tambi\u00e9n ayuda.<\/li>\n<li>Si sustituye el h\u00e1bito de fumar por m\u00e1s ejercicio, se sentir\u00e1 mejor al cabo de unas semanas y no subir\u00e1 de peso.<\/li>\n<li>Las ansias o necesidad imperiosa de fumarse un cigarrillo generalmente duran de 3 a 5 minutos. Si supera esos pocos minutos, est\u00e1 m\u00e1s cerca de no fumarse ese cigarrillo. Las siguientes cuatro medidas pueden ayudarle.\n<ul>\n<li>Espere al menos tres minutos; las ganas de fumar pasar\u00e1n.<\/li>\n<li>Beba agua o zumos.<\/li>\n<li>Distr\u00e1igase, al\u00e9jese de la situaci\u00f3n, haga otra cosa.<\/li>\n<li>Respiraciones lenta y profundamente, inspirando por la nariz y espirando por la boca.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Tenga en cuenta que el hecho de que no lo haya conseguido antes no significa que no pueda conseguirlo la pr\u00f3xima vez: la mayor\u00eda de los fumadores necesitan varios intentos antes de dejar de fumar de forma definitiva.<\/p>\n<p>La manera m\u00e1s eficaz para que los fumadores reduzcan sus probabilidades de sufrir un IM es eliminar el h\u00e1bito radicalmente.
