Norm\u00e1ln\u00ed hladiny jsou 126 mg\/dl nebo m\u00e9n\u011b pro hladinu cukru v krvi nala\u010dno a 200 mg\/dl nebo m\u00e9n\u011b pro hladinu cukru p\u0159i m\u011b\u0159en\u00ed bez la\u010dn\u011bn\u00ed. V p\u0159\u00edpad\u011b pochybnost\u00ed se prov\u00e1d\u00ed or\u00e1ln\u00ed gluk\u00f3zov\u00fd toleran\u010dn\u00ed test. Ten spo\u010d\u00edv\u00e1 ve vypit\u00ed gluk\u00f3zy a m\u011b\u0159en\u00ed reakce t\u011bla (hladiny cukru v krvi) po dvou hodin\u00e1ch. Pokud je hladina cukru v krvi po dvou hodin\u00e1ch vy\u0161\u0161\u00ed ne\u017e norm\u00e1ln\u00ed, je diagnostikov\u00e1na cukrovka. Pokud je v\u00fdsledek norm\u00e1ln\u00ed, je cukrovka vylou\u010dena. Dal\u0161\u00edm krevn\u00edm vy\u0161et\u0159en\u00edm, kter\u00e9 m\u016f\u017ee b\u00fdt indikov\u00e1no l\u00e9ka\u0159em, je glykovan\u00fd hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c). Jedn\u00e1 se o marker dlouhodob\u00fdch hladin gluk\u00f3zy, kde hladiny 6,5 % (48 mmol\/mol) nebo vy\u0161\u0161\u00ed nazna\u010duj\u00ed diabetes.<\/p>\n<p>Existuj\u00ed dva typy cukrovky: cukrovka 1. typu je charakterizov\u00e1na nulovou nebo n\u00edzkou produkc\u00ed inzul\u00ednu v t\u011ble a projevuje se obvykle v d\u011btstv\u00ed; u diabetu 2. typu je hladina inzul\u00ednu naopak norm\u00e1ln\u00ed nebo vysok\u00e1, p\u0159i\u010dem\u017e t\u011blo se jeho \u00fa\u010dink\u016fm br\u00e1n\u00ed a projevuje se v dosp\u011bl\u00e9m v\u011bku.<\/p>\n<p>Dev\u011bt z deseti pacient\u016f s cukrovkou m\u00e1 cukrovku 2. typu, kter\u00e1 zkracuje \u017eivot v pr\u016fm\u011bru o deset let. Vlivem tohoto onemocn\u011bn\u00ed se tak\u00e9 sni\u017euje po\u010det let pro\u017eit\u00fdch v dobr\u00e9m zdrav\u00ed v d\u016fsledku brzk\u00e9ho v\u00fdskytu srde\u010dn\u00edch \u010di ledvinov\u00fdch chorob. Cukrovka 2. typu je onemocn\u011bn\u00ed zp\u016fsoben\u00e9 nezdrav\u00fdm \u017eivotn\u00edm stylem, kter\u00e9 v\u00fdrazn\u011b souvis\u00ed s nedostatkem fyzick\u00e9 aktivity, obezitou a m\u00e9n\u011b zdravou stravou.<\/p>\n<p>Cukrovce 2. typu lze p\u0159edch\u00e1zet <a href=\"https:\/\/www.healthy-heart.org\/keep-your-heart-healthy\/physical-activity\/\">aktivn\u00edm \u017eivotn\u00edm stylem<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.healthy-heart.org\/keep-your-heart-healthy\/heart-friendly-diet\/\">vyv\u00e1\u017eenou stravou <\/a> a udr\u017eov\u00e1n\u00edm <a href=\"https:\/\/www.healthy-heart.org\/keep-your-heart-healthy\/keeping-a-healthy-weight\/\">zdrav\u00e9 t\u011blesn\u00e9 hmotnosti<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Lidem s cukrovkou hroz\u00ed dvakr\u00e1t a\u017e \u010dty\u0159ikr\u00e1t vy\u0161\u0161\u00ed riziko, \u017ee se u nich b\u011bhem \u017eivota vyskytne <a href=\"https:\/\/www.healthy-heart.org\/your-heart\/what-is-heart-disease\/\">srde\u010dn\u00ed choroba<\/a>.
